Tasting Notes: Cranberry Pie, Marshmallow, Hot Cocoa
It feels like winter is just around the corner! And what perfect timing as we launch our seasonal blend, Wintry Mix. As always, we've curated Wintry Mix to warm your heart during the holiday season. It brings all the comfort of a winter blend, reminiscent of sweet hot cocoa to be sipped with friends and family.
As the the weather gets colder and the skies get darker, we start to gravitate towards those sweeter coffees to comfort us and those are the coffees we chose to achieve that profile in this year's blend. With sweetness in mind, each of the components in this blend bring something different to the table that in unison become the perfect holiday treat! This year’s Wintry Mix consists of 3 individual components from Kenya, Honduras, and Mexico. El Rincon (Honduras) will provide the deeper chocolatey base flavor to caramelize with medium-low acidity and a medium body. Gatuya AA (Kenya) adds a savoury, red fruit forward and confectionary profile to the blend which provides a zing acidity that reminds us of winter fruits like cranberries and pomegranates. Finally, Xanat #2 (Mexico) will provide the nutty, sugary notes that remind us of toasted marshmallow. Together, these coffees create a lovely mix of bright, savory and super sweet flavors that are here to bring winter warmth, happiness and health to you this season.
