La Muralla is named for an informal group of young producers from San Agustín, who sometimes join forces to create truly special microlots. Together, the group producers a blend of cherries of the Caturra, Castillo, Pink Bourbon, & Colombia variety. Castillo and Colombia, which are hybrid/resistant varieties, are blended together with Caturra to produce a beautiful, easy-drinking flavor profile. We’re told this season had a boom of Pink Bourbon and so far, we’re noticing it in the cup. The pink bourbon variety has been known for its floral and berry-like characteristics. This year’s harvest is fruity and complex, with deep, tempered notes of pomegranate and goldenberry. Whether brewed as filter or espresso, La Muralla is full of body, happy acidity, and irresistible sweetness.
