Woreda: Agaro Town
Union: Kata Muduga
Tasting Notes: Meyer Lemon, Black Tea, Wildflower Honey
We are simply thrilled to have Nano Challa back this year! The Nano Challa Coop, along with Duromina, is one of several primary cooperatives organized under the Kata Muduga Union. Founded in 2004 by 25 farmers from Agaro Town, the coop has since grown to over 700 members. In 2009, with the help of TechnoServe’s Coffee Initiative, this coop built their first washing station. Soon after, they set a bar for the excellent processing and beautiful flavors we expect from the region. Now, despite numerous obstacles, Asnake Nigat, the managing director of the Kata Muduga Union, continues to guide the quality farming and processing that make these coffees truly shine.
Nano Challa is full of citrusy aromatics and notes of juicy stone fruit. Both in body and flavor, this lot brings a comforting quality reminiscent of black tea with milk and honey stirred in. This year’s selection is especially sweet, complex, and 100% delightful.
