Hunapú is the indigenous Kakchikel Mayan name for Volcán de Agua, just south of Antigua. The Bella Vista farm and wet/dry mill sits at the foot of that volcano, processing coffee from small local farms into the popular regional blend "Hunapu", which we shared with you last year.

We're excited to kick off our 2018 Antiguan offerings with Hunapu Bourbon - a varietal selection of 100% Bourbon - providing the intriguing opportunity of tasting a single variety produced by a community of small neighboring producers.

Antiguan coffees are known for bright, sweet notes of stone fruit (think peaches and plums), and cane sugar. Bourbons are known for brewing up smooth cups with balanced, crisp acidity, and a sweet finish. Grow a bourbon in Antigua, and you get a base of toasted nuts and rich toffee (think Almond Roca candy) followed by the soft fruitiness and clean finish of a ripe pear. Our Hunapu Bourbon is easy drinking on its own and deliciously nutty with milk.
